Land Grabbers Convicted -----The first land
grabbing case to be tried before the Federal Court
at Carson this term was the case of the Government
against the Pacific Live Stock Co. Miller &
Lax-which was tried Thursday. The company owns
large ranch on the King's river in the northern
part of Humboldt County and illegally fenced a
large section of land. Thursday were out only 20
minutes when they returned a verdict of guilty.
