December 25, 1862 N. Brown was shot
and killed by R. T. Ferris alias "Butcher Bob," at
the Pioneer Hotel in Unionville. Ferris was put
under bonds of $2,500 to appear for trial, but was

Snowden was fatally stabbed at Unionville,
Pershing County, by a teamster. He was somewhat
noted as a politician and had formerly lived at
