December 25, 1862 N. Brown was shot and killed by R. T. Ferris alias "Butcher Bob," at the Pioneer Hotel in Unionville. Ferris was put under bonds of $2,500 to appear for trial, but was never tried.  History of Nevada Thompson & West - 1881

August 22, 1863 George Ward was shot and killed by a Mexican named "Jose," at Unionville; a gambling difficulty. History of Nevada Thompson & West - 1881

October 1863 Richard N. Snowden was fatally stabbed at Unionville, Pershing County, by a teamster. He was somewhat noted as a politician and had formerly lived at Auburn, California. History of Nevada Thompson & West - 1881
